CRUST & CO. • BAKERY
BREAD AND BEYOND
logo design • brand design
Crust & Co. is a concept bakery that brings a dash of eccentricity to every loaf and pastry. The brand identity was envisioned with a clear direction: to capture the playful and irreverent spirit of Monty Python's iconic cut-out art style. The goal was to create a visual experience that reflects the bakery’s quirky personality and love for the unconventional.
Inspired by the surreal, collage-like aesthetic of Monty Python, I developed a logo and art direction that’s both nostalgic and refreshingly unique. The design blends humor with a sense of nostalgia, ensuring that every interaction with Crust & Co., whether in-store or online, feels as delightful and unexpected as their baked goods.
This project is a conceptual exploration, intended to showcase the potential of Crust & Co. as a bakery that doesn’t just offer treats but also delivers a memorable experience filled with charm, creativity, and a touch of absurdity.
OVERVIEW
MONTY PYTHON ART
I drew heavily from the iconic graphic design style of Terry Gilliam, known for his surreal and whimsical Monty Python animations. This style, characterized by its use of absurd, cut-out imagery and playful compositions, perfectly aligns with Crust & Co.'s quirky and nostalgic brand identity. The design pays homage to Gilliam's ability to blend humor and art in a way that feels both classic and refreshingly unique.

CRUST & CO. ART
The logo for Crust & Co. is a delightful blend of vintage aesthetics and quirky charm, designed to reflect the bakery's playful personality. A whimsical cut-out figure of a man eagerly savoring a baguette adds a touch of humor and character to the design, perfectly capturing the bakery's fun and unconventional spirit. Additionally, a secondary logo simplifies the design, focusing on just the banner with "Crust & Co.," providing a versatile option for branding.
